About Think Well
Conveniently located in the prestigious Element Building, in the heart of Erina, on the beautiful NSW Central Coast. Easily accessible by public transport, and only a short 5-10min drive from the North/South exits of the M1, boasting onsite undercover car parking, and on-street parking, Think Well Hypnotherapy offers Clinical Hypnotherapy in conjunction with Strategic Psychotherapy. You can achieve best results in a shorter amount of time compared to traditional talk therapies alone. Each Hypnotherapy session is unique to you and your experiences.

About Maree
Hi, my name is Maree Evans, and I am your Clinical Strategic Hypnotherapist.
I have completed various University Undergraduate and Post-Graduate studies in Nursing, Science, and Psychology (USyd, UTS, UTas), holding various positions in the health care system as a Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and University Facilitator to nursing students.
I stumbled across hypnotherapy and its effectiveness while completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Oncology Nursing. There was so much evidence-based literature published in support of hypnotherapy and its effectiveness in managing various mind-body issues that I was drawn to learning more, and how I could provide this reputable therapy to those in need of a solution-focused approach to their ongoing problems.
This curiosity led me to completing a Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Strategic Psychotherapy (IAP), and a Certificate in Neuro Linguistic Programming (IAP) and therefore qualifying as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Strategic Psychotherapist, and NLP Practitioner.
I am now equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tool base to help you achieve freedom, to help you control your thoughts, to help you control your feelings, and to help you ultimately Think Well and create your own future.

What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis can be described as a very deep state of relaxation, where the conscious mind is less active, and the subconscious mind becomes more susceptible to suggestion, using what we call Trance. We naturally go in and out of trance every day. It’s normal to still hear me, you are not asleep, you are in complete control, and you can’t get stuck in trance.
What is Strategic Psychotherapy?
Strategic psychotherapy recognizes gaps in your knowledge that support your current problem. Through a problem-solving approach we will work in partnership together to achieve your desired outcomes. I use strategic psychotherapy in conjunction with hypnosis to achieve optimal results for you.
How is Modern Hypnotherapy different to Traditional Hypnotherapy?
I am a Modern Hypnotherapy Practice. This means I use Ericksonian Permissive Hypnotherapy techniques, providing sessions that are uniquely tailored to you and your presenting condition, without the use of generic scripts.
Where do I receive my therapy session?
All therapy sessions are either face-to-face (in-clinic), or via the virtual/online App ZOOM. This App can be downloaded to your computer, tablet, or smart mobile phone. You will receive an invitation via email with the details to your upcoming appointment, ZOOM login, and password, it’s as simple as following the prompts. This gives you the flexibility to receive therapy anywhere that’s convenient for you, without the travel. It is essential you are not interrupted during your sessions; a quiet room, no pets, TV, or other distractions for 60-90min. A chair with head support is recommended.
Will Hypnotherapy work for me?
For your sessions to be effective, I will need your full cooperation and involvement, as the more invested you are the better the outcomes. You are largely responsible for achieving success. By allowing each condition to be managed one at a time, committing to and attending all prescribed sessions recommended to you, and completing the tasks assigned between sessions, you will see results.
What can I do between sessions?
You will be assigned 1-2 homework tasks to complete between each hypnotherapy session. These usually consist of a task such as listening to your complementary 15-20 min recording of the week’s session, for 5-7 days of the week, at around the same time each day. This will help reinforce what was suggested to you during your session, and further strengthen the therapeutic effect of hypnosis. Individualized tasks will be assigned to you at the end of each session, they are simple and easy to follow/complete.
How many sessions will I need?
The total number of sessions required varies, some people may only require 1-2 session, while others require between 4-8 sessions to resolve their issues (4-8 weeks). This is also dependent on what condition you are seeking treatment for, as there are certain conditions that require more sessions than others. A treatment plan will be discussed with you during your first session, and we will prescribe the best number of sessions required for your success.

What are the Myths?
Hypnotherapy has drowned in myth and misconceptions since it’s inaccurate portrayal in movies, TV shows, and Stage Hypnosis Productions.
To clear up some misconceptions:
